Security Camera Shop is operated by 10195648 Manitoba Inc. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you shop at securitycamerashop.ca, use your customer account or contact us.

Our business owner is responsible for privacy enquiries and personally handles requests sent to support@securitycamerashop.ca. Please mention privacy in your message.

Information We Use

  • Orders and accounts: your name, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, account information, purchases, payment status and order correspondence. We use these to process purchases, arrange delivery, provide order updates and manage your account.
  • Support and returns: the contact details, order information, messages and relevant documents you provide so we can answer enquiries or assess a return, cancellation or warranty request.
  • System-design requests: the project requirements and information you choose to send so we can recommend equipment and prepare a response. Please leave out passwords, access codes and information unrelated to your request.
  • Newsletter signup: your email address and subscription preferences to send the updates and offers you request.
  • Store and device activity: information such as your IP address, browser, pages viewed, cart activity and privacy preferences. Essential uses support the cart, checkout, security and saved choices. Measurement and optional uses are explained under Cookies and Your Choices.

Checkout payment providers handle the payment information needed for your chosen method. Please do not send card numbers or security codes through ordinary email, chat or enquiry forms.

We also use relevant records to prevent fraud, investigate problems, maintain required business records and respond to lawful requests. Asking for support or placing an order does not, by itself, subscribe you to our newsletter.

Shopify and Other Service Providers

Our store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information when you visit or purchase from us. This supports functions such as checkout, orders and customer accounts.

We use Shopify Network Intelligence. Shopify uses information from your interactions and transactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to provide Enhanced Services, including analytics, product customization and advertising features. For these Enhanced Services, Shopify processes information for its own purposes as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy, not only on our behalf. Information is shared with Shopify and other third parties that may be located in other countries to provide these services.

Depending on where you live, you can use the Shopify Privacy Portal to exercise applicable rights, including opting out of or objecting to certain uses of your information and requesting deletion. Shopify's consumer services, such as Shop and Shop Pay when used, also have their own privacy terms.

Relevant information may also be provided to payment providers, delivery carriers, suppliers helping fulfil your order or warranty request, and services that handle our forms and customer communications. For example, Hulk Form Builder supports the store's return form. Information provided for those services is used to handle the corresponding request, transaction or delivery.

Our store also has integrations for reviews and order tracking through Judge.me and Parcel Panel, Google services through Google & YouTube, and marketing tools through Privy. Their tracking choices are discussed below; installing a marketing tool does not subscribe you to email or text messages.

We may disclose information when the law requires or permits it, including to respond to valid legal requests or protect against fraud. We do not treat this policy as permission for unrelated uses of your information.

Cookies and Your Choices

Cookies and similar technologies help a website remember information and understand activity. Essential technologies keep functions such as your cart, checkout and security working. Blocking those technologies in your browser can prevent parts of the store from working.

For visitors in Canada, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies, or choose individual categories. The choices cover the analytics, personalization and marketing purposes described in the settings. Shopify's privacy controls communicate your selections to compatible services. Cookie consent is separate from signing up for marketing emails or text messages. Settings and additional privacy rights may differ outside Canada.

Visitors in Canada can select Cookie Settings in the store footer to reopen their choices and change or withdraw optional cookie consent. Continuing to browse or sending an enquiry is not consent to optional cookies. Your browser also provides cookie controls; clearing stored information can clear your saved preferences.

Google measurement: Google supports Consent Mode to adjust measurement to consent choices. When analytics or advertising cookie storage is denied, Google may still receive consent-status and measurement signals without using cookies for that denied purpose. These signals help measure and model website activity. Rejecting optional cookies therefore does not necessarily stop every Google request or mean that no information is sent. Privy and data-sharing choices: Privy's declared pixel settings require both marketing and analytics permission and classify its collection as data-sale-related for Shopify's privacy controls. That platform classification is not a conclusion that a sale occurs under every applicable law. Privy's declared settings also state that its pixel does not collect when a data-sale opt-out is recorded. A sale/sharing opt-out is distinct from an email unsubscribe. Contact support@securitycamerashop.ca to ask about or make a data-sharing request; where a separate sale/sharing control is offered, you may use that control as well.

Videos and external links: our homepage YouTube videos remain unloaded until the required analytics and marketing choices are accepted. You can instead follow the separate Watch on YouTube link. When you load a video or visit an external site, that provider can receive device and activity information under its own privacy practices.

Email Preferences

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message or by contacting us. This does not stop necessary messages about an order or an enquiry you have made. We keep the information needed to respect your unsubscribe choice.

Storage, Retention and Security

We also keep customer correspondence and relevant order records, documents and system-design attachments, including floor plans you submit, in our business email account to answer enquiries, prepare equipment recommendations, support orders and handle returns or warranty requests. Our email service provider processes this information to provide the email service. We take reasonable precautions to protect these records from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

Shopify hosts customer data for this store in the United States. That hosting location does not mean all processing takes place there: Shopify and other service providers may also process information in other countries or outside your province. Information processed elsewhere may be accessible to courts or authorities under the laws of that location. You can contact us for information about our service-provider arrangements.

We retain information for the purposes described here, taking account of outstanding orders, warranties, disputes and legal recordkeeping requirements. Once information is no longer needed, it should be securely deleted or made non-identifying. An unsubscribe or deletion request does not necessarily remove transaction records we must retain.

We use safeguards appropriate to the information and the risks involved. No website, email service or storage system can promise complete security. Please send only the information needed for your request.

Your Privacy Rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used or disclosed, and request access or correction. You can also ask to withdraw consent or delete information, subject to applicable legal limits. Additional rights may apply depending on where you live.

We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. We will explain any lawful limits on a request. You may raise a concern with us or with the appropriate privacy regulator, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Policy Updates

We will date changes to this policy and provide additional notice or request fresh consent when required. A policy update does not automatically authorize a new, unrelated use of information already collected.
